Five Clips From Malick’s To The Wonder Debut

to the wonder header

As the film’s April 12 release date looms, Magnolia has debuted five clips for their pending release, Terrence Malick’s To The Wonder, and if you needed any more reason to run to theaters (or, if it’s not playing near you, it arrives on VOD and iTunes the same day), this should help change that.

The film stars Ben Affleck and Olga Kurylenko as a newly married couple who find their relationship tested after the former returns to his old stomping grounds, and while Malick’s style is very much in affect here, these clips hint at something he’s not all that well known for; a beating heart.

Romance seems to be the main touching point here, but these clips do also hint at a film that is even more stylistic than the oft-mocked masterpiece Tree Of Life. As a rather vocal Malick supporter, I myself can’t help but anticipate this picture about as hard as any other this year, and these clips don’t do much to change that.
