Guillermo Del Toro’s Pan’s Labyrinth Heading To The Stage As A Musical

As a sequel to his yet to be released feature, Pacific Rim, and countless other films in some sort of production for director Guillermo Del Toro, arguably his most beloved film is getting a revival, this time, as a stage musical.

Deadline reports that Pan’s Labyrinth is coming to the stage as a musical. Producers have tapped the team of Gustavo Santaolalla and Paul Williams to pen the musical’s music and lyrics, with the book already written by Del Toro and Jeremy Ungar.

This sounds like an absolute wonder. Williams is one of the most underrated and seemingly forgotten song writers in all of music, and Santaolalla is arguably today’s greatest composer, so this is a team made in heaven. With a fantastic bit of source material in the form of Del Toro’s film, this is shaping up to be one of the better adaptations we’ve seen in quite some time.
