Jamie Bell Among Many Set To Join Von Trier’s Nymphomaniac

As Lars Von Trier continues to build his next, highly talked about feature, Nymphomaniac, the cast is rounding out, and it’s shaping up to be one of his biggest yet.

Already including the likes of Shia LaBeouf, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Stellan Skarsgard and the pair of Nicole Kidman and Willem Dafoe rumore, THR reports that the cast will be rounded out by Jamie Bell, Connie Nielsen, Jens Albinus, Shanti Roney, Severin von Hoensbroech, Nicolas Bro and Jesper Christensen.

The film will be split into two parts, and will follow ‘a woman’s erotic journey from birth to the age of 50.’ Here’s the full synopsis:

NYMPHOMANIAC is the light and poetic story of a woman’s erotic journey from birth to the age of 50 as told by the main character, the self-‘diagnosed nymphomaniac, Joe.

On a cold winter’s evening Seligman, an old bachelor, finds Joe semi‘unconscious and beaten up in an alleyway. After bringing her to his flat he sees to her wounds while trying to understand how things could have gone so wrong for her. He listens intently as she over the next 8 chapters recounts the lushly branched-‘out and multi faceted story of her life, rich in associations and interjecting incidents.

Personally, I can’t wait for this film. It remains to be seen if it will hit at Cannes of next year (as the film’s producer Peter Aalbaek Jensen had controversially proclaimed this year) but a 2013 release date seems almost certain, so this will easily be one of next year’s most talked about films. I myself can’t wait to check it out, especially with this cast, crew and premise all rolled into one project.
