John Woo’s Next Now Title ‘Love And Let Love’; Set To Be An Epic Wartime Romance

With a recent comeback of sorts, coming in the wake of the well received epic ‘˜Red Cliff,’ things on the John Woo front appear to be taking quite an upswing.   And now, his next film appears to be taking shape.

Korea Herald is reporting that (via The Playlist) the director’s next film will be a wartime romance project, now titled ‘˜Love And Let Love.’

The film, originally titled ‘˜1949’, has been in the works for years now, but had seemed to fall apart a few years back, when issues arose with the film’s script and its rights. The project will star Song Hye-Ko and ‘˜2049’ lead Zhang Ziyi, as well as Chang Chen.

‘˜Love’ will follow the story of a woman in the wake of WWII, and her life during the Chinese Civil War.   The film itself sounds really intriguing, and it will be interesting to see someone like Woo appear to be going epic in both scope, and romance wise.   I love the premise and the cast here, so hopefully this film can continue the rise in quality of Woo’s output over the past couple of years.
