Lars Von Trier’s Nymphomaniac Goes To Magnolia

lars-framed

If something isn’t broke, why fix it?

Following the massive success that Lars von Trier and his partnership with Magnolia saw with his last film, Melancholia, the pair will team for the US release of the auteur’s new film, Nymphomaniac.

Magnolia has nabbed the domestic rights to the upcoming film, which follows a woman’s sexual growth from birth to the age of 50. With a likely debut at Cannes this year (something that is all but confirmed, even despite von Trier’s now infamous press conference back in 2011), the film was nabbed for something right around $2 million.

Starring the likes of Charlotte, Gainsbourg, Stellan Skarsgard, Shia LaBeouf and Jamie Bell, the film is aiming to be one of the most talked about pictures of 2013, and easily one of the most controversial. Von Trier himself is a walking manifestation of controversy, so with this type of drama up his sleeve, we have absolutely no idea what to expect.
