As two of the most beloved filmmakers on the arthouse and foreign film scene, The Dardenne Brothers know how to command an A-list cast, and their next project may have just gotten their biggest star yet.
The Film Stage is reporting that Marion Cotillard will join the pair’s new film, Deux Jours, Une Nuit (Two Days, One Night), which will follow the story of “a wife who has a weekend to see colleagues and convince them to give up their bonus so she can keep her job.” It will co-star Fabrizio Rongione.
Personally, as a massive fan of much of their filmography, including their last film The Kid With The Bike, this film sounds like an absolute must see picture. Cotillard is one of today’s biggest actresses, and will fit perfectly inside of their type of film. The premise is intriguing and sounds right down their alley, so with production set to start this summer, expect to hear a lot more about this coming early on next year. Cannes 2014? Who knows?
