While we’ll next be seeing writer/director Paul Schrader’s name attached to the credits of his upcoming James Deen and Lindsay Lohan-starring The Canyons, his next writing gig has just gotten a little more interesting.
Deadline is reporting that his long anticipated The Jesuit has finally gotten a director, in the form of Alfonso Pineda Ulloa. I’m not all that familiar with his work, but he will be joined by actress Shannyn Sossamon, who has joined the film’s rather intriguing cast.
Shooting later this month, the film will star Jose Maria Yazpik who will play a man who has been wrongly imprisoned for a crime that he had nothing to do with. Following the murder of his wife and kidnapping of his young son, the man sets out for revenge. Now, the film was originally set to star Paz Vega, Willem Dafoe and Michelle Rodriguez, so the change of cast is a little upsetting, but with Schrader involved, this is one film that will definitely be worth looking out for.
