TCM Licenses 50 Classic Johnny Carson Interviews Featuring Big Screen Icons

The truest home for film lovers around the world, at least for their televisions, TCM has now stepped out of their comfort zone once again.

While they’ve taken to licensing television interviews with their licensing of select episodes of the Dick Cavett Show over six years ago, TCM has revealed that they’ve stepped up their game even higher, picking up 50 choice interviews spearheaded by none other than Johnny Carson.

Indiewire reports that producer Peter Jones   has helped pick up the collection of interviews, which will run on TCM in the summer of 2013 under the title of Carson On TCM, and will feature the likes of William Holden, Gregory Peck, James Stewart, Elizabeth Taylor and even Ronald Reagan, years before his run as President.

The interviews have been off air, for the most part, since their first hit the screen, and it will be a fantastic bit of history to see these things once again. Carson, above all else, was one hell of an interviewer, and got great segments out of the biggest and brightest stars of his time.
