Trailer Arrives For Michael Haneke’s Amour

While the film is still a ways off, what with a December 19 release date set for the film, a new trailer for Michael Haneke’s beloved new film, Amour has arrived, and it looks like an absolute winner.

Drawing Oscar buzz for everyone involved, the picture stars Isabelle Huppert, Emmanuelle Riva and Jean-Louis Trintignant, and follows the story of an aging couple who are faced with great trials following the wife suffering a stroke. Certified Copy star William Shimell co-stars, making this not only one of the best casts of 2012, but following a year-long festival run, one of 2012’s most talked about foreign pictures.

With the aforementioned Oscar buzz building strongly for the picture, one has to imagine that we’ll be hearing quite a bit about the film leading up to and following its release. Haneke is easily one of this writer’s favorite living filmmakers, and this is just the type of dark adult drama that he’ll knock right out of the park.
