Trailer Debuts For Mira Nair’s The Reluctant Fundamentalist

While the film did happen to open last year’s Venice Film Festival, Mira Nair’s The Reluctant Fundamentalist remains one of 2013’s biggest art house question marks. However, with a new trailer now available in anticipation of its pending April 23 release date, the IFC Films release looks like it may be something to really pay attention to later this spring.

Starring the likes of Riz Ahmed, Kate Hudson, Liv Schreiber, Kiefer Sutherland, Martin Donovan, Om Puri and Meesha Shafi, the film follows the story of a professor who has his life altered deeply by the events of September 11, 2001.

Set to bow this April, the trailer here is absolutely gorgeous, and while that should be expected when talking about a film from the likes of Mira Nair, it’s a really moving trailer that hints at a deeply touching feature film. The photography looks gorgeous, and with reviews proving to be more than positive, Nair appears to be back on her A-game after the utter stinker that was Amelia. One can at least hope, right?
