Neil Jordan To Head Jury For Tokyo International Film Festival

It looks like we have some good news coming out of the world of Japanese film to start the week off.

According to Toronto J-Film Pow Wow, director Neil Jordan (Mona Lisa), has been tapped to head the jury of the upcoming Tokyo International Film Festival, which will be in its 23rd year. The festival kicks off on October 23rd, and Jordan is a perfect name to headline this jury. He’s a fantastic filmmaker, with films like Mona Lisa (which is getting a Blu-ray release this August) and of course, his best known film, The Crying Game, and while he’s not the most well known name, he is well respected in the world of film.

I’ve always been a massive of Jordan and his work, and while some of his later films, particularly The Brave One, haven’t been on the highest end of the spectrum, he’s consistently put out some fantastic work, and is a really well respected member of the collection. Hopefully there will be some more great news to come out of this festival when it starts in late October.
