After only a few months of existence, All Things Digital is reporting that Hulu may be considering changing the price of their recently launched plus service.
The outlet is reporting that Hulu is looking at lowering the price of Hulu Plus from the current mark of $9.95, to $4.95.
Hulu Plus launched earlier this year, featuring content from the likes of ABC, NBC and Fox, as well as various films ranging from cult hits to classic cinema. This comes after users and critics have sparked debate over the quality of the service, which offers a much smaller list of content than its rival, Netflix, and at a full $.96 cheaper.
Personally, it’s not so much the product’s price as it is the product in and of itself, which used by itself, doesn’t stand up to its big brother Netflix. Now, used as say a person’s cable-type TV provider, the lower monthly price is a godsend. Also, at this clip, it makes using it with Netflix much more economical. Overall, I can’t help but think that this may be the move that the company needed to make to become a true player in the premium streaming game.
What do you think?
