Official Trailer for Terry Gilliam’s The Zero Theorem Debuts Online

The Zero Theorem header

Say what you will about his recent output, but Terry Gilliam is undeniably one of the most unique visionaries in all ofcinema. The official trailer for the director’s new film, The Zero Theorem, which premiered at last year’s Venice Film festival and stars the very wonderful and very bald Christoph Waltz, has popped up online for our viewing pleasure.

Though the trailer isn’t in HD yet, you can definitely see the makings of an unofficial trilogy with Brazil and 12 Monkeys based on the film’s overall look and satirical edge. It divided critics at its premiere—as all of Gilliam’s films usually do—but I’m gonna cross my fingers and call it the most promising thing I’ve seen from Gilliam in a long while.

The film co-stars David Thewlis, Tilda Swinton, Ben Whishaw, and—surprisingly—Matt Damon. There’s no release date announced as of yet, but we’ll keep you posted.
