Prepare Yourself For The ‘America Lost And Found’ Criterion Box Set With This Clip

It’s pretty amazing how fast five months flies. It seems like only yesterday we started spreading the rumor that Criterion was hard at work on a massive New Hollywood Box Set, that was planning on being released around the holidays. Well here we are, on the eve of the release of the America Lost And Found: The BBS Story box set.

While this release was not eligible for the 50% off discount during the Barnes and Noble sale that just ended, it is pretty reasonably priced over at Amazon (currently $87.49, although their price may drop at some point this week with their Black Friday deals).

I haven’t received a review copy of the set yet, but it is definitely on my “MUST BUY” list.

For those of you who still may need some convincing, as to the awesomeness that is contained in this set, I’m including a clip from the set below.

If you need more convincing, as to whether you should be buying this set tomorrow or not, head over to Badass Digest, and read our friend Moises’ review of the set. You should also make a stop over at DVDBeaver to check out their review of the set, complete with tons of high resolution grabs from the Blu-rays.

The DVD set won’t be released for a few more weeks (December 14th).

  • From the Rossellini War Trilogy to this BBS set, Criterion has had a magnificent year. I really think they outdid themselves in 2010, even with so much great stuff in their back catalog. The quality of their presentation just keeps going up and up and what an amazing variety of films, big and small, familiar and obscure, they’ve lavished on us all (well, for a small fee, of course.) :o) I got my “Your Order Has Shipped!” notice today, but alas, I’ll have to wait until Christmas to open it. Worth the wait, just a few more weeks…

  • Very cool that some of the lesser known films and figures of the 1970’s golden era are getting their due.
