Samantha Morton, Amy Adams And Carey Mulligan Join New Spike Jonze Film

Over the past few months, things have slowly been coming to form for the much hyped re-teaming of director Spike Jonze and Charlie Kaufman.

After a few years and films apart, the pair have been hard at work on a new, yet-to-be-titled project, which has been kept under insanely tight lock and key. Described as a political satire, that’s literally all the world really knows about the project, other than it was once believed to star Joaquin Phoenix.   Well, that appears to not be the case.

Deadline reveals that, in a post originally announcing the casting of Samantha Morton, Amy Adams and Carey Mulligan in this satirical project, it appears as though Jonze has written himself a brand new project, which will find these three teaming with Phoenix. The film will follow a ‘guy who fall in love with the voice of a computer, similar to the Siri feature on the new iPhone.’

Personally, this sounds like a killer project.   I think the quirky romance sounds really fun and the perfect to really mine something interesting out of.   Now, it remains to be seen as to just when we’ll get to check out this film, but hopefully it’s sooner, rather than later.

  • Yes this project is perfect.  A quirky film for a quirky actor. Namely being Joaquin Phoenix.  Overall a great combination of directing, producing, writing and acting talent.
