This is the podcast dedicated to The Criterion Collection. Rudie, Ryan & Travis discuss Criterion News & Rumors, Criterion New Releases, they analyze, discuss & highlight CC #314, Robert Bresson’s 1959 film, PICKPOCKET, plus Criterion Trivia, and “Variations of a Theme”; where they discuss other films that relate to the themes of the film they’re reviewing.
As we discussed on an earlier podcast, Criterion announced they would be releasing Gammorah and A Christmas Tale in November. We has also reported the rumors that there would possibly be a release of Steven Soderbergh’s two part epic: Che, which looks like it will be released in December. *Update – 9/1/09 – The price has jumped back up to $24.99* Hey Criterion Addicts! Over at Amazon, they have Carol Reed’s 1949 film, The Third Man, for only $15.99 (the DVD is $16.49!). This is most likely a limited time sale, so get it while it’s cheap. It’s one of the only Criterion Blu-Ray’s at 60% off, and they are out of stock, but still taking orders. I’ll update the post when the price goes back up. It was announced earlier today that IFC and Criterion will be joining forces for several DVD and Blu-Ray releases later this year, into next.
